We are so grateful to everyone who participated in our Through the Foster Lens photo exhibit and fundraiser. Together we raised both crucial funding for our programs and awareness of the lived experiences of those who have been impacted by the child welfare system. Each evening provided opportunities for us to connect on a personal level with so many in our supportive community.
The heartfelt photos submitted by people impacted by foster care have inspired us and everyone who came to our events in Seattle and in Tacoma. Each moving photo was beautiful in its own unique way. Thank you to all who so graciously shared their feelings through photography.
Thank you to our wonderful Board of Directors and Ambassador Board for their support with everything from helping us find great venues, to spreading the word about our work, to rallying their networks to turn out for the events.

At Amara, everything we do is about love – love for children, love for families, and love for our communities. We truly felt that love at both our Through the Foster Lens exhibits. Together, we will transform the child welfare system into a family well-being system in which trauma is reduced and healing can begin.
