Become a Foster Parent

As a foster parent, you can make an impact in a family’s life. Amara is here to help every step of the way, offering training, services, and ongoing support. We work with individuals and couples inclusive of marital status, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and race, who are willing and able to provide an inclusive and affirming home while children are separated from their families.

Volunteer

Together, we can make a profound impact on the long term outcomes of children, adults, and families experiencing foster care and adoption. Volunteers are key members in our network of support and ensure we’re able to offer important programs and services. Come alongside Amara as we promote healing, racial equity, and transformation of our child welfare system into a family well-being system.

Fostering Family

Fostering Family is a community-wide initiative led by Amara, in partnership with businesses and non-profit organizations across the Puget Sound region, to raise awareness of children in foster care and inspire community action to support kids and families. Becoming a foster parent or kinship caregiver isn’t the only way to support the nearly 4,500 kids in foster care across the Puget Sound area. We all have a role.
